A nice place on Wall Street.
Really like the use of books as decor and the wide plant floor.
The service and food are good; decor is nice. Love the baby kale.
High Line in April
Aside from constructions, the park has at least two signs of warning not to yellow robed monks are – one by 30th Street and one at the lower end near an aerial bridge. One monk got his prey last May 2016.
A long walk, nearly 8 miles
A glamorous day, come to walk with me, visit my city New York.
I take the LIRR into city, passing by Flushing and Long Island City.
The colorful braids. B & H camera shop is closed for Jewish holiday – first day of Passover.
Midtown west is going through a giant make over – the building boom.
The High Line Park is bare and over crowded. And more warning signs of fake monks are spring up

Flushing, from LIRR
Belmont, Bronx
Belmont is in the northwest of Bronx is called Little Italy (wiki). It’s far better, authentic and local than the one in New York City, next to Chinatown. The area has a lot to offer. To the west are New York Botanical Garden and Bronx Zoo. To the north is the Fordham University.
We visited
- butcher Vincent’s, the pork shop
- dined at Zero Otto
- got fresh mozzarella from Casa della Mozzarella
- the Italian Addeo & Sons Bakery
- pasta shop
- the little market @ the corner of Arthur and
Arthur Avenue is the main street, even it’s a one way street. The buzz in the air is the area is up and coming, being gentrified. I don’t really know why since Fordham University has been there since 1841. It’s very residential and restaurants buy from their neighbors, which is old fashioned and good for the local economy.

Another feels right place I spotted. Zero Otto Nove uses their Italian bread, which is super delicious. They’ve two locations – Arthur Ave – one block from each other. Frank Sinatra’s portraits are prominently displayed in the store. They offer to slice for you.
Casa della Mozzarella

House of Mozzarella. I’ve a nose for food. The door could not have been smaller but it just feels right. So I went in. I feel dizzy from all the stuff hanging high and packed shelves – a flea market? a junk yard? I feel dizzy that I find a little gem. They make the best mozzarella in the world. Zero Otto Nove gets their mozzarella from them. The line is long, all the time. And don’t try to go there next week, during the Good Friday if you don’t prepare to wait for hours.
… and … I love artichoke. And consider the Italians know how to cook them. Sooo … I was ready to buy. Then one of the guys began to crack open this big metal can Ciro sarciofi alla romana con gambo. Before I knew it, he fished out one artichoke after anther. Gee … I would think they cook them. Oh well.
