Le 52

52 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis
75010 Paris, France

Will return. Their wine glasses caught my eyes.

It’s on a small street – St. Denis – that’s filled with restaurants and cafes and bars. This one has both indoor and outdoor seatings. We sit inside – I can’t take the smokers. French music. Great food, bread, and great wines. They let you taste the wine first – which is great.

The mozzarella is just simply wonderful. The table next to us – threesome order two -:).

Also they have teas from China – no I didn’t try.

The only down side is – they provide too much bread – I almost eat them all -:) of course it’s their fault ha ha ha

In general I find restaurants, acafes in that matter have less waiting staff and they work very efficiently. They don’t come to chat. They serve and don’t brother you unless you signal them. Well it’s a profession in Europe … working seamlessly is beautiful to watch.

Protest, again

Paris: the second one we saw – after the cab drivers yesterday. This one is on Boulevard de Strasbourg, facing Théâtre Antoine-Simone Berriau, near Gare de l’Est.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

1 Rue Botzaris
75019 Paris, France

Near Parc de Belleville but is larger.

At the Avenue Simon Bolivar and Rue Botzaris entrance, there is a puppet show house. The park was first opened in 1867. The Temple Sybille is high atop, offers good view of the city.

Cimetière du Père Lachaise

8 Boulevard de Ménilmontant
75020 Paris, France

Père Lachaise Cemetery is the largest in Paris. It has many well known dead, well kept. There are many entrances. And there are someone who is always willing to point you to the right direction of the graves …

We visited four graves five people:

  1. Abelard and Heloise – can’t resist the love story
  2. Jim Morrison
  3. Chopin
  4. Balzac

… and a few more …

Van Gogh, Starry Night

The Atelier des Lumières @ 38 Rue Saint-Maur, Paris
Ticket: €14.50 ($16.31)

A visual and aural feast in Paris!

A digital exhibition/visual and musical production, showcasing the works of Vincent Van Gogh (1853-90). The music, ranging from Tchaikovsky to Rachmaninov  to Moldau by Smetana to 0:170:11 to pop, is simply wonderful. Within the van Gogh exhibit, there is a shorter piece on Japanese art. You can stay as long as you desire, and can stand, sit or laying on the floor, in the 19th-century foundry. We stood on the balcony which I think gives your the best view: walls and floor. The Klimt’s Nights is available Aug to Nov, unfortunate for us.

Canal St Martin

Paris has a river Seine and two canals, which are still working. The water looks clear. It’s 2.8 miles (4.6 km) long, between Canal de l’Ourcq and Seine.

As we were passing by, a boat came upon us, waiting for the lock. Mostly are children – perhaps on a school outing …

Square Jules Ferry – near Marché Popincourt
