Veniero’s pastry bakery

Baker Veniero’s is always busy. When we got there at 10:30pm, the line is already in place, not as far back as to the door, but it’s a solid half hour wait. Their cheesecake is sublime, creamily yet not too sweet, suits Asians’ palate just fine. Some of Ferrara’s on the other hand are bit too sweet for my taste but I still rank it up there.

Long ago, there was another good place for cheesecake, Elaine’s. We found it in an charming Italian restaurant near NYU. The restaurant has since closed. Not sure Elaine’s is still in existence.

The three sibling and their families went there for a coffee prior to Julie’s wedding rehearsal on Nov 27, 2009.

It had been popular with the Asians.

Asianized Veniero’s

342 E 11th St
New York, NY 10003

My lord, there wasn’t a line at Veniero’s but nonetheless a full house. And more than 70% were Asians 🙂 I was one of them!

I got a small cheese cake and eight cannolis. King just got home from school with three buddies. The four little tall men wolfed down all of them with gusto and telling me “it’s really good.”
