How the hamburger is built

image image image image image image

It’s on the north side of the American Museum of Natural History, in the Excelsior Hotel. They serve dinners only on week days.
Two areas by the bar near the entrance are inviting. The dim lighting makes ambiance cozy and welcoming, but it may cover up some imperfection, like the ceiling above our table – it didn’t bother us in anyway, a little home improvement would take care of it.
Good service.
Fake flowers (no no!).
Large portion.
Decent presentation of food.
After we walked out of the hotel onto the street, we unanimously said, “will NOT return.”
The food tastes a little better than the fast food.
The Peruvian Cristal beer is good
Paella is good
Calamari Frito – is too sweet for my taste because I prefer my food salty
Chivita – beet salad with Spanish goat cheese with garlic oil, beets are good but the sauce is rather plain
Vaca Frita al Caballo – Cuban Skirt Steak – disappointing the most, goulash comes to mind.

Shake Shack, the burger joint

imageShake Shack was born in a Park, Is Going Public With Big Dreams on Jan 30, 2015, priced at $21 a share but would double, to close at $45.90.

NYT: .. But Shake Shack brings something else: the pedigree of Danny Meyer, the celebrated New York restaurateur who began the company on something of a lark to help draw crowds to Madison Square Park and provide additional jobs for staff members at one of his nearby restaurants. .. since 2001 …

Tonight on 8th Avenue at 44 Street, (691 8th Avenue; closes at midnight), the line was out and about at 11:15pm. My burger and stuffed portabella mushroom, no line -:)

Bourbon Street of New Orleans in New York

The few streets in the area were most lively during the Halloween when we went with the kids to trick or treating.

Lake Pavilion 2

60-15 Main St
Flushing, NY 11355 – right off LIE.

We’ve dinner (before 6:30pm) and lunch (after 2:30pm) one day apart. Tight space – either time was off peak. Untidy bathroom. No chopstick rest for lunch (or simply forgot?). We have a set menu (pre-written) but they forgot to serve steak. After we questioned them (thank god someone remembers .. I won’t ..), they served. More pix of dishes.

Everything was average. The walnut shrimp could use less mayo.

We didn’t order maca but find this interesting
