Bahamas 1992
After we booked a tennis camp, I found out I was pregnant. My in-laws persuaded us not to go. So Bahamas it was. By the time we arrived at Nassau, I was just starting my second trimester. I played tennis every day anyway, with a coach. The two bed/bath condo at Sandpipper was great, right on the sandy beach. Rolled out of the bed and went to swim every morning. The water was warm and calm. I can’t swim free style straight without the bottom lines (in the lap pool), but the water was crystal clear that I followed the ridges or the shoreline. It’s off season, only $99 from the timeshare. The locals looked very happy and content.
Just purely luck, we caught the Bahamas Open, Aaron Krickstein was the top rated player. Krickstein was a great swimmer. We watched Mark Knowles, the home town boy playing doubles, and won.
Doreen came back from Hong Kong to spend the X’mas in New York. She and my father-in-law came to pick up us from the airport, and announcing that she too, was pregnant! Our first borns were only a month apart. Needless to say, my in-laws were very happy.
