YH Seafood Clubhouse

8081 Turkey Lake Rd
Orlando, FL 32819

… more pix at Yelp and Google Maps. This is one of 30 Michelin Recommended restaurants in Orlando.

Will return.

Airy decor; not sure the copper or gold color fit everyone’s taste but muted hue is nice. Service is good. And wonderful food – normal, not sweet, for the Chinese tastebud.

For lunch on a Wednesday, is more than half empty. The diners are all Chinese, conversing in Mandarin.

Tea bag. At this price range, I expect loose leaves.
No push cart for dim sum, all are carried from the kitchen.

– Chicken feet: one of better one I’ve had
– Seafood siu mai: one of the best I’ve had. Normally I don’t order it because it’s too meaty. Not this one: light and yummy
– Shanghai dumplings: xiaolongbao, they’re ok. No ginger nor vinegar were offered. I actually looking forward to the ginger.
– Two oysters: very fresh and excellent. Just too big. Have to ask for fork and knife.
– Salt n pepper scallops: fresh, light and delicious.
They never bothered to change our plates.
The two additional sauces, vinegar and hot sauce came with plastic spoon: seriously?
It seems their chef perhaps isn’t aiming at serve with these sauces, which is the norm elsewhere.
When tea runs out, open tea pot cover is indication that we need a refill, no one came to refill, till I asked.

Bathroom although clean, is couple of notch below than their dining halls decor. No seat cover.

This business has many restaurants but this is the only one so the upscale menu and has opened three years. I hope they stay open for at least another 30 years -:)

I rate this one above Taste of Chengdu from last night: decor, foods and professionalism. Size makes no difference in my book.
