Bye LA, and hello NY
The security is visibly tight at LAX due to Westminster attack in London. Fortunately, we were able to catch an earlier flight out.

Love their classical music on play all the time! Country decor, wood, one long communal table, bread, more bread, heavenly bread, healthy; yummy marmalade. Each restaurant has a major piece of artwork – this one is with many cups. Spacious bathroom. Looking out to Kirk Douglas theatre and yet to be complete One Culver – all roads lead to Culver -:).
We’ve breakfast at their DC shop last May, by the Fresh Market; also last evening for a quick bite with a cousin at their Westwood location. All good.

Will return, if in the area. A lovely cafe. The communal table anchors the space. The pink tulips are just wonderful. The map in the wide (wood?) frame is a nice touch. This is the second one we’re dining in.
Foods are delicious. A great place to read, for a cup of coffee, to read …

It opened in 1922, a movie theater that is … an early example of a lavish movie palace and is noted as having been the site of the first-ever Hollywood film premiere. It was built by showman Sid Grauman and real estate developer Charles E. Toberman, who subsequently built the nearby El Capitan Theatre and Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. It is operated by American Cinematheque.

It’s on the long and winding Mulholland Drive (remember the movie – directed by David Lynch in 2001; mystery/crime). The hike is pretty steep and parking is tight – a cop is handing out tickets; but the views are great. The day starts cloudy but as we climb, the skies clear up. Hooray.

You come here to eat, with gusto. Authentic and down to earth atmosphere (no frill). Friendly and energetic young male waiting staff. The parking lot is small and can get busy easily. Another name for this restaurant is veggie wrap: aside from the usual romaine and lettuce, they offer mint (so large and round, very pretty), rice flour sheets, seaweed and even parsley, pretty neat. It’s my first time to eat white/colorless kimchi. They also offer the egg pot and kimchi pot are on the house. I’ll return.
