The last of the three bridges we passed/hiked is the Brooklyn Bridge. Peck Slip. FDR. South Street Seaport. Etsy.
I spotted a vendor who sells ice cold water for $1: this is very cheap! Perhaps due to the weather? I’ve purchased years ago for $2 on this bridge -:). It was $3 at US Open 2021 and $5 plus sale tax at AMC Fresh Meadows 7.
This bridge is the least visited among the three brides (BMW) on the East River.

Pier 35 is at Mussel Beach by FDR, between Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges (closer to Manhattan bridge).

I don’t come to this part of Manhattan often: Lower East Side which refers to FDR on the East River, in lower Manhattan, among the three bridges BMW – Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg, clockwise (from west to east).

This downtown house, cross street from Paris Cafe was built by Jasper Ward in 1807. It has changed many hands since (a detailed post on DaytonInManhattan). In 2022.

The Essex Market is an old food market that opened in 1940; a short walk from Williamsburg Bridge.
Eateries, markets, cafes, bar … nothing special but a nice place to take a break in the area, which is being gentrified.
The second floor has many tables, looking out to a project housing complex.

It began in 1801, as New York Navy Yard, an active shipyard for US Navy till 1960s. My father-in-law used to work there (as well in Hawaii), to launch submarines. Now, it’s undergoing a major redevelopment.

Saw a few companies with Chinese names, as well as a beer: Southern Village Inc. 南方农产公司, Ken Mable Inc 健美宝贸易公司 and the Cold Beer Store, which doesn’t look like beverage place nor feel cold.
