Da Dong 大董烤鸭店

东城区东四十条甲22号南新仓商务大厦1-2楼 22A Ten Nanxincang Business Building, 1-2 Building
Dongcheng District, 51690329

I took subway Line 2 to Dadong’s Dongsi Shitiao 东四十条站. The area is being preserved, surrounded by high-rise buildings. The entrance is 严阵以待 embattled and 戒备森严 heavily guarded, four men (white top black pants) stationed outside and six young women (all in black) lined up inside, three each side. It’s China.

I’ve a small gift bag, one of the women took it and ushered me to our private dining room on the second floor.

I particularly like the way they serve the wine, from the decanter and fill the stem with just 2-3 oz of wine, leaving enough room to swirl and sniff.

The presentation of the dishes are excellent and delicious as well.

The Peking duck is awesome. The traditional way of cutting is or was into 108 pieces. Da Dong’s waitress told me they slice it into 88 pieces. Whatever.

虎头蛇尾 .. We might have stayed bit longer. They kept coming in for no reason and then turned off the air conditioning. I supposed it was our fault.
