The Peace Hotel 和平饭店

Wiki: The hotel today operates as two separate businesses. The North Building, built as Sassoon House, originally housed the Cathay Hotel and is today the Fairmont Peace Hotel run by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts of Canada. The South Building was built as the Palace Hotel and is today the Swatch Art Peace Hotel. The two buildings both face the Bund, but are divided by Nanjing Road.

The flower changes weekly. We went to the Old Jazz Band at the hotel.

The Voyage of Pujiang 浦之舟

Puzhizhou, Boat on the Pu River sits on the Pu river just south of the Renmin Road Tunnel. The view is spectacular. Multiple levels, some suites have doors that open up to the balcony (ours doesn’t – we declined the offer to move to the next room with door: a little too chilly). It’s a Thursday in March, the restaurant isn’t full. The service is really good, so is the food, and the portion is on the large side.

A little island in a backyard, Shanghai

I get to play a hour of badminton with my cousin and her friends, all mothers. We won 2 sets and lost 1. Forest Manor 西郊庄园 near Hongqiao Airport in Minhang District is a high end community that warrens an entry in baike.

I’d one camping experience: 1987 in Deleware River in the Poconos. I’m so set to camp again in Shanghai even if I’ll have to bring my own tent.
