The Battle of Long Island

This hill inside the Green-wood cemetery is the highest point in Brooklyn, the battle ground of Long Island on August 27, 1776 – back in the indpendance war ear, Brooklyn and Queens were all part of Long Island. It’s the biggest battle of the war.

A national histrical landmark, it began in 1838 when the churchyards were over crowded. Clean bathrooms. There are many well known residents, Louis Comfort Tiffany (stained glass), Leonard Bernstein, etc.
