Salem, MA
This trading port (less ‘pretty’ than a fishing port …) of Massachusetts is 18 miles northeast of Boston. The city’s population is 41k, with 1 million visitors each year that generate about $100 million. Here is their marketing site. I find it attactive, and fits into my research only adds more favorably. I spent all my time in the the following:
- Chestnut Street District:
- Pickering House @ 18 Broad Stree
- The Francis Cox House was built in 1846 and is situated at the corner of Chestnut and Summer street
- Maritime National Historic Site: Derby House @ 168 Derby Street and Derby Whar
