Franz Sigel Park and a lively bodega country

Bronx, NY 10451

South of the Bronx Supreme Court is Franz Sigel Park, commemorating the German military officer (1824-1902) who fought in the American Civil War. He was buried at the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.

Along the Grand Concourse are many social gatherings / parties (?) with food, singing, dancing and games. The neighborhood  (of Melrose near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, seems like a bodega country, filled with bodegas, where people love to sing and dance, and doing it well. However, the area is very filth, which is the story of New York City under current mayor: dirty, dirty and going downhill. I’m not sure Bill de Blasio is doing anything he can to make the City lovable and livable.
